32 or 64 – What to Choose

OK, you have seen advertisements for new systems, some on 32-bit systems and others on 64-bit.  Some of you are probably how and what to choose.  The Windows blog site has an FAQ on the difference and some of the issues you will run into.  To answer about which one to choose will depend on your needs and planned use, and how long you plan on keeping it.  The biggest problem with 64-bit systems was drivers to run equipment.  A friend of mine had purchased a 64-bit system over a year ago and had problems getting his equipment because of the lack of 64-bit drivers.  Because of the availability and cost you only have issues with older equipment anymore.  If new equipment doesn’t have 64-bit drivers I would be surprised.  My personal recommendation is that if you aren’t trying to connect older or run older apps to go with the 64-bit.
