Yesterday I posted on Android versus iPhone. Today is Xoom vs. iPad 2. I have had a chance to see the new iPad 2 and it is quite nice, as well as very thin. I seen reviews and Xoom takes hits because of lack of apps for it. But consider this is the first release, the iPad had the same issues because apps had to be developed for the new platform. Consider the following information: the first Xoom is far superior the first iPad in hardware, and is even more superior to the iPad 2. To get more information from someone who has compared them side-by-side.

Right now I’m leaning towards the iPad2. I just have too much investing with iTunes to make the switch to something else.
Thanks for the post.

I understand the need to have seamless integration. I had been looking at getting an iPhone once Verizon had it, but since having the Droid 2, I am not interested. And if you are wondering I have looked and had some time working with the iPhone from a client I supported back in GA. He would give it to me to resolve the problems he was having. The things that push me to the Xoom are better graphics, a slightly larger screen, USB and HDMI support, and the biggest plus is the ability to upgrade the memory, which is the biggest plus with the Droid 2. And being able to change memory cards means I can have different cards with different items available when I need. With Apple products you are stuck in the mold they have cut. This is not being responsive to market needs. (But that’s my two cents worth)

Being able to swap memory cards would be a big plus.

I recently traded my iPhone4 (for a Atrix) for the exact same reason as listed above. granted iphone (apple) is an outstanding concept but limited only to what Steve will allow. The many benifits of the Android operating system out weigh those of the iOS.

Not to mention that the battery is removable. The list goes on….

I know the problems of working for someone who wants to put everyone in a cookie-cutter solution. But then this was a person who would talk about the benefits of token-ring network. I don’t understand the reason people are willing to accept being placed in a box.
